# How do I use Claude for my job search?

To use Claude for your job search, connect a job search tool such as CareerMax as a connector, share your résumé, and ask Claude for your daily jobs. Claude ranks new jobs against your experience, and CareerMax fills the applications you pick, finds people for referrals and tracks everything. Setup takes about five minutes.

## What Claude does well on its own

Without any connector, Claude is already useful for the writing and thinking parts of a job search:

- tightening your résumé and tailoring it to a job description you paste
- drafting cover letters and short networking notes
- practicing answers to behavioral questions
- researching a company with web search

What it can't do in a normal chat is see a fresh list of jobs matched to you each day, fill in an employer's application form, or keep track of where every application stands. That's what a connector adds.

## A typical day

1. At 8 AM, a scheduled task runs "Run my CareerMax job search brief". You open Claude on your phone and see the top jobs, each with why it fits.
2. You tick three and tap Apply. CareerMax starts filling the forms.
3. One form asks for your notice period. Claude asks you, and you answer in a line.
4. You review the finished applications and approve them.
5. After one is submitted, Claude offers to find someone on that team who could refer you, and drafts the note.

## Tips for better results

- **Give Claude your real résumé,** or describe your experience in detail. The ranking is only as good as what Claude knows about you.
- **Be specific about what you want:** roles, level, locations, remote or not, and the pay you need. You can change it any time by telling Claude.
- **Read the one-line reasons.** They show why a job fits. Skip the ones that stretch.
- **Keep Review before submit on** while you're getting started, so you see exactly what's sent.
